Sand Catcher / Memory & Heirloom

A life's happiest memories held in sand that has been frozen as a liquid solid. That's what glass is - it is also made of sand. As a conceptual artist who lives in southern California but who came from the very the very cold north I have an appreciation for each and every beach. I call it home but worhship it like a tourist. I've created these beautiful vessels to hold the grains that come from a life of cherished vacations. In the fused glass tradition it is common to be asked to include a loved ones remains in glass. Ive done it once for a friend during covid when everything was shutdown. I produce the vacation heirloom through this website, and these are also available through better funeral homes and can be made to specifications and engraved and usually delivered for services.
